Thursday, October 18, 2007

This was emailed to me, and after reading it, I'm totally nostalgic of my Primary School days... Here's some of the 50 things, those in different colors were what I've gone through and vividly remember.

1. You grew up watching He-man, Captain Planet, MASK, Transformers,Silver Hawk and Mickey Mouse. Not to forget Ninja Turtles, My LittlePony and Smurfs too..

2. You grew up brushing your teeth with a mug in Primary school duringrecess time. You will squat by a drain with all your classmates beside you, and brush your teeth with a coloured mug.The teachers said youmust brush each side 10 times too. (mine was brush teeth at our canteen sink during my lower primary only)

3. You know what SBC stands for.

4. You pay 40 cents for Chocolate or Strawberry MILK every week in class. (YES!!! I totally remember this! I ALWAYS ALWAYS wished that it would be Chocolate Milk every week, I hated the Strawberry ones yuck! Especially when I was really hungry on the ride home from school, I will drink the milk, but it'd be abit warm. I also remember always wanting to run down to the 1st floor outside general office to collect the packets of milk)

5. You find your friends with pagers and handphone cool in Secondary School.

6. SBS buses used to be non-airconditioned. The bus seats are made ofwood and the cushion is red. The big red bell gives a loud BEEP! when pressed..

7. There are colourful tickets for TIBS buses. The conductor will checkfor tickets by using a machine which punches a hole in the ticket. (I used to collect my bus tickets, cause it was cool)

8. Envelopes given to us to donate to Sharity Elephant everyChildren's Day.

9. You've probably read Young Generation magazine. You know who's Vinnythe little vampire and Acai the constable.

10. You were there when they first introduced MRT here. You went forthe first ride with your parents and you would kneel on the seat tosee the scenery.

11. Movie tickets used to cost only $3.50.

12. Gals are fascinated by Strawberry Short Cake and Barbie Dolls.

13. You learn to laugh like The Count in Sesame Street .

Not forgetting the 15 cents animal crackers and the ring pop, where the lollipop is the diamond on the ring. (Definately fell in love with the ring pop! and Push Pop!)

15. You watched TV2 (also known as Channel 10) cartoons becauseChannel 5 never had enough cartoons for you.

16. Hardy Boys, Nancy Drew, The Three Investigators, Famous Five andSecret Seven are probably the thickest story books you ever thoughtyou have read. Even Sweet Valley High and Malory Towers .

So missing Grey's Anatomy (i love george) so much, I decided to catch up on my movie and watched Sunshine loads of time, and last night The Pursuit of Happyness.

You have nooooo idea how much I love Sunshine. This is the BEST of the BEST Sci-fi + Thriller I've ever watched. And finally I've managed to find the DVD. Thoroughly enjoyed it. It's about 50 years into the future, the Sun begins to die, and Earth is dying as a result. A team of astronauts are sent to revive the Sun - but the mission fails. Seven years later, a new team are sent to finish the mission as they are Earth's last hope.
Here's the trailer if you're curious: http://www.apple.com/trailers/fox_searchlight/sunshine/trailera/
Just watching the trailer gives me goosebumps, if any of you wanna watch, let me know I'll pass you the DVD =)..... I like to shareeeee great movies!

The other movie I watched last night was The Pursuit of Happyness. Beautiful story. Super touching. I watched The Oprah Show that guests Will Smith & Jaden Smith for the promo of the movie. And Will Smith proved live that he could solve the Rubiks Cube in under 10 mins. Real good. It's amazing you can see the chemistry in the movie between Will Smith and his son. I like the last part where he was clapping and tearing at the street filled with people. He really stood out, not that he was tall and black, but I guess it's his happiness that stood out. Awesome.

Next movie on my to watch list is Nightwatch and it'sfollow up Daywatch. It's intense CGI.

Since the last time I blogged, (with sizzle lover complaining "y nv blog!!!"), I had alot of things going on. With the MOE interview, and the extremely RUDE MOE admin ppl, with the website projects, decorations, and then there's the thinking of how to celebrate my 21st bdae. You can see me asking people older than me how they celebrated their 21st bdae, hahahah I wanna steal their idea if they have any good ones, or be inspired by theirs. I was telling my friend that when I was young I wanted a MacDonald's bdae party. Really really really wanted one! But it never happened. During my time, it was reallly cool to be invited to a MacDonald's bdae party okie! hahahhaha.

The MOE interview was okie, I did my best, but of course I did feel that I could have done better. I always got interrupted by the lead interviewer. I really want this job. So 3 weeks from today if I gotten a thick letter it means I'm in, if it's 1 piece of paper it means I'm not selected. So people THINK THICK! thanks =)

So one day at home, I thought to myself I need to watch a new TV series other than Friends, Prison Break, Heroes and CSI, and I did, I started to watch Grey's Anatomy.

I've been hearing alot of hoohaas about this show initially but I didn't really feel that it was that appealing until I watched it. It was gooooooddddd, I was hooked. So now I think after 3 weeks maybe, I've watched all 3 seasons of all 63 episodes of all 63 hours of surgerys, scandals, sex and weird scenarios. I'm even more hooked. I love how the weird surgerys and situations can literally shock me. I can't wait for Season 4! weehee!!

This is period where all the TV series premieres with their new seasons, Prison Break 3, Heroes 2 and Grey's Anatomy 4.
